Oracle User Assistance Director in Washington, District Of Columbia

Responsible for directing the activities of teams of staff designing, developing and maintaining user assistance (such as training courses, certification exams, documentation, tutorials, videos, embedded help in UI, sample code, eBooks, infographics) for Oracle products.

Directs team in executing strategy and vision for creating and delivering innovative user assistance for Oracle products. Leads multiple teams spanning 2 or more product ands and technology areas responsible for user assistance assets. Directs and controls activities through senior staff that are at Manager level and above. Maintains a significant sphere of influence within the organization. Facilitates collaboration with internal stakeholders. Participates in development of organizational strategic plans. Sets goals for teams and ensures objectives are achieved. Establishes processes to support mid to long range goals. Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to organizational processes. Professionally presents to all levels of the organization including adjusting presentation styles based on level and utilizing professional-level communication skills. Handles ambiguity in direction by self-organizing and balancing priorities for the betterment of the organization. Has a diverse background that can tackle multiple, divergent projects with conflicting priorities and limited resources. Understands various project management methodologies, when to use them and how to combine them into a practical approach that fits the department s skills, knowledge, and temperament. Requires 10 years of managerial or related experience, including at least 2 years as Sr. Manager, plus 2 years of experience managing complex strategic initiatives. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Shows track record of competent management skills as demonstrated by successes in leading cross-functional projects. Demonstrates history of attracting and retaining high caliber employees, and fostering positive morale. Possesses user assistance development or relevant experience. Demonstrates good information design, analytical and research skills. Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

As Director of UA Development, you will:

Requires 5 years experience in producing and managing documentation or training assets for enterprise software products.

Requires familiarity with trends in Big Data, Data Lake, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Visualization and Analytics technologies.

Requires 10 years of managerial or related experience, including at least 2 years as Sr. Manager, plus 2 years of experience managing complex strategic initiatives.
