And we’re looking for more.The Manager Systems Engineering ESP independently manages a team accountable for supporting the Enterprise Server Platforms at CME Group. The incumbent must have sufficient knowledge of technology to effectively lead the team. Strong communication and documentation skills are required as the candidate will typically be working with customers for support and new initiatives.Principal Accountabilities:• Accurately defines the circumstances surrounding a decision point, seeking out all feasible alternatives. Prioritizes the alternatives and works out a plan for execution. Makes the decision, then takes the appropriate steps to implement and support the action decided upon; Evaluates the effectiveness of the decisions outcome in comparison to expected results from alternatives. Develops a work breakdown structure, schedules plan and responsibility matrix.• Collaborates with business owners and determines an optimal solution to stakeholders and senior management based on risk and cost. Revises project implementation plans, and recommends environmental enhancements or modifications as needed.• Defines problem statement and expected outcome on resolution; Ensures the team determines the root cause, provide solutions, and takes initiative to see the solution through; Collaborates with project owners and assists with modifications required, verifying process implementation and making adjustments as necessary.• Demonstrates knowledge of skilled systems (Linux/Windows), distributed computing architecture (client server, intranet/internet), h/w platforms, and resources - CPU, memory, virtualization, clustering, and cloud computing. Demonstrates advanced understanding of staff resource management and process improvement; Ensures staff follows and implements best practices.• Reviews work products of others within the team; Documents solution and provides clarification and support to others.
