Essential Duties

  • Optimization of assigned site(s)(underground and/or surface) through updated designs and phasing

  • Management and completion of Reserve and Resources for assigned site(s)

  • Strategic analysis of assigned site(s) options – options creation through evaluation

  • Business Development support – assist with evaluating M&A opportunities, along with growth project support

  • Strong and effective communication of duties to assigned site(s) and regional leadership through face to face interaction

Training & Experience

  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the mining industry both surface and underground - preferable including long range mine planning experience with emphasis on gold / copper deposits.


  • Knowledge of financial metrics / models (NPV, CSC/oz, AISC/oz, EBITDA, Free Cash Glow).

  • Problem solving skills and ability to test new concepts and methodologies for mine planning.

  • Experience using mine planning software, preferable VULCAN.

  • Providing scenario analysis involving changes to plans to identify alternatives for improvement.

  • Currently (or willing/able to become) a Competent/Qualified Person (QP).
