Laboratory Technician – New Braunfels, TX

This is a non-exempt level position.
The successful candidate must be able to work 12 hour shifts as needed with short notice. Attendance and punctuality is required, along with the ability to work independently in an organized manner. This position is expected to perform all duties and base all decisions in a manner which supports the best interests of ADM, which is in alignment with the ADM Way & Code of Conduct.
•Trouble shoot and perform basic maintenance on lab instrumentation
•Perform routine laboratory testing to confirm compliance with customer specifications
•Prepare, process finished product samples, perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems
•Analyze HACCP and MCP documentation for accuracy and verification purposes
•Complete special projects as assigned
•Perform lab sanitation duties as assigned
•Focus on safety, quality, and integrity
•Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical field or closely related experience is preferred
•Lab experience is highly desirable
•A good understanding of basic chemistry, biology, physical principles, and process control a plus
•Candidate should be familiar with operating standard lab equipment (i.e., pH meter, moisture balances, NIR)
•Ability to multi-task and work without immediate supervision is required
•Experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook) is necessary
•The candidate must be able to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by phone
•Position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods of time
