The WellStar IT Clinical Informatics department is hiring a Clinical Informatics Specialist to join its team. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is a clinical professional who is under the direction of the Clinical Medical Informatics Officer. This role is to provide clinical informatics services to individuals, physicians, departments and agencies that are a part of WellStar Health System. Participates in the assessment of needs pertaining to clinical information systems, including hardware, software, staff development and management support. Provides content expertise that supports care area teams. Clinical informaticians transform health care by analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating information and communication systems that enhance individual and population health outcomes, improve patient care, and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship.
Required Minimum Education : Associate degree or equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in a health-related field preferred.
Required Minimum Licesnure/Certification : Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia with current credentials required.
Required Minimum Experience : Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia with current credentials required. Minimum three-years of experience in clinical practice at the bedside and/or information systems related activities. Prefer experience with a combination of clinical practice and information system implementations.
Required Minimum Skills : Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Strong customer service skills. Proficient in the use of Internet browsers and Microsoft Office products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills must be organized and have the ability to analyze and trouble shoot problems. This individual must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team. Ability to multi-task is essential, as is the ability to function in stressful and emergency situations. Strong detail orientation and time management skills are required. Knowledge of clinical practice settings and clinical workflow in a hospital setting are necessary.
