The Sr. Director, US Consumer Credit Sales & BD will work to build and lead the Credit Sales & Business Development team both within the US Credit Organization and in close collaboration with Commercial Sales organization. The leader of this team will have a hunger & determination for winning new business, be passionate about digital commerce and have a genuine interest in PayPal Credit Solutions and products. This leader will be required to focus on all aspects of PayPal’s Consumer Credit payment solutions and build a strategic pipeline in tandem with the North America sales teams. The employee will implement their extraordinary consultative sales skills to communicate and negotiate with the most senior executives of leading enterprises across a range of industry verticals.
Build out and then lead the US PayPal Credit Sales and Business Development team to sell PayPal’s Credit solutions across multiple industries to achieve substantive revenue growth goals.
Working with the VP and GMs of US Consumer Credit, and in strong partnership with the US Commercial Sales teams, prepare a robust operating plan, sales targets and accurate business forecasts so that budgets and forecasts are consistently exceeded
Work with the VP and GMs of US Consumer Credit and US Commercial Sales teams to develop and implement a strategic plan to aggressively drive PayPal’s Credit products growth
Utilize a consultative approach to sell PayPal’s US Credit solutions to merchants across a range of industry verticals
Actively engage clients by selling PayPal’s Credit solutions in a compelling yet consultative style
Conduct customer meetings with senior level executives at the CEO, CMO, CFO & COO level. Negotiate commercial terms, contracts and close deals with strategic merchants
Act as primary point of contact with internal key contacts (Pre-sales product specialists, Integration engineers, Finance, Legal and Marketing etc.) to develop programs that mutually benefit both PayPal, US Consumer Credit organization, and the client.
Personal Qualities, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required
Candidate MUST have a genuine passion for technology, fintech and payments space.
Self-starter; proactive with ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a complex organization.
Vast retail network and proven success negotiating and closing deals with both large and small companies
Experience in leading a sales and business development team required; depth in US consumer payments (bankcard, private label, co-brand, mobile wallet) sales and/or business development preferred. Fluency in digital commerce a bonus.
Deep leadership experience with demonstrated ability to hire, develop and retain exceptional talent.
Exceptional consultative sales skills with a passion & hunger to win.
Results oriented, analytical, self motivated & a “hands on” person with proven ability to meet objectives & targets
Ability to effectively manage a pipeline and be an organized administrator working within a defined sales process
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills required
Demonstrated ability in successfully working within a highly matrixed organization.
