PC Planning Director

Background/General Purpose of Position:

Leads the MCO Personal Care (PC) Planning team, including demand and requirements planning, MCO-wide repack, gifting and e-comm new models. Acts as the E2E Supply Chain (SC) business partner to the PC Brand VP and the E2E SC lead for the PC CCBT. A key member of the UKI MCO SC Leadership Team (SCLT) and influencer with the main regional organisations to ensure UKI MCO needs are met (eg UEBV PG, Brand, R&D). Also a member of the MCO Extended Leadership Team (XLT).

Ensure the C4G agenda is driven within the PC business with focus on speed and execution excellence. Deliver clear, transparent, and accurate go to market plans, enabling decision making and excellent execution of in-market events. Manage trade-off’s (eg. cash vs cost vs service), representing the upstream SC (eg UEBV, Procurement, SU’s) on the Category teams. Act as a key contact for the UEBV Category Planning Director. Lead for high performance, diversity and inclusion within the PC SC team.

Responsibilities, Accountabilities, Consultation and Information


  • Represent the E2E Supply Chain on the PC CCBT

  • Provide critical SC inputs and perspective on key CCBT decisions

  • Ensure the C4G agenda is fully supported via faster decision making and better trade-off’s

  • SC coordination of the 3 critical CCBT processes, namely S&OP, IBP (aka long-term) and IPM

  • Contribute to the building of the MCO SC and Category strategies

  • Provide a pivotal link for the Brand VP in delivering all SC aspects of the long-term plan, including the GM / 5S improvement programme. Actively support the Brand VP in the overall business decision making process

  • Ensure an effective SC network (from source to deliver) can link into the CCBT agenda so we can maximise the SC value-add for the business (acting with One Voice)

  • Lead for excellent Demand Planning processes, a high performing team, delivering forecast performance in the upper quartile of Unilever performance. Ensure the long-term forecast shows credible demand expectations and ensure this drives the necessary behaviours and actions from our upstream partners (eg UEBV, R&D)

  • Lead for excellent Requirements Planning processes within the MCO, a high performing team, with inbound supply performance enabling target Customer Service delivery against the forecast. Ensure the design stages of innovation and customer requirements are well understood and acted upon by our upstream partners (eg UEBV, SU’s and R&D)

  • Lead, with the members of the SCLT, for great SC execution, recognising new requirements and adapting the SC organisation in time to meet these needs.

  • Champion a learning culture and an ongoing drive to up-skill, especially in the PLAN area.


  • SC coordination of S&OP, IBP and IPM for PC

  • Represent SC capability for key projects, events, and activities

  • Communicate stock availability status : opportunities and constraints

  • Implement priorities set in case of constrained supply and/or service issue resolution

  • Accountable for the overall delivery of all elements of the teams work.
