As a membership organization, the Forum, through the Business Engagement Team, engages businesses in projects and initiatives – online and offline – to address industry, regional and systemic issues.
The mission of Business Engagement is to be the centralized business unit within the Forum with primary responsibility for the acquisition and engagement of the World’s most relevant and impactful business organizations into and across the Forum’s value streams (e.g. events, initiatives, communities, projects, centres). One of its four business units is the Engagement Management Group.
To join this group, we are seeking a Head of Consumer, Food & Beverage, and Healthcare who will lead the strategy of engaging business leaders in partnering with the Forum in order to strengthen and deepen the relationship with Forum partners.
Reporting lines and interactions:
The Head of Consumer, Food & Beverage, and Healthcare will report to Ramya Krishnaswamy, Head of Engagement Management.
Internally, this person will work with colleagues in the Business Engagement team as well as Industry Leads covering related sectors; and externally with a broad range of stakeholders in partner companies in the Agriculture, Food & Beverage, Retail, Consumer & Lifestyle, and Healthcare Industries.
Breakdown of main responsibilities:
Partner engagement: Act as primary engagement manager for some of the most important companies in the cluster, developing and implementing partner engagement strategy together with the Head of Engagement Management.
Partner relationship management: Develop partner relationships across C-suite and maintain relationship with operational contacts; from on-boarding to off-boarding. Develop a tailor-made engagement plan for each partner company, manage companies at risk, promote Forum activities to partners to deepen engagement, and actively seek to upgrade partnerships or the addition of another Forum product.
Team management: Ensure team delivery on agreed targets and support team members with best practice sharing and in joint interactions with their own respective portfolio companies, focusing on at risk companies and potential upgrades.
Cross-team value delivery: Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and leverage their expertise throughout the partner engagement cycle. Enable internal colleagues to contribute enhance the Forum’s value proposition during meetings with company executives, and at key moments of the partner engagement process.
The successful candidate will be assessed on:
Delivery of agreed targets including partner satisfaction rates, partner retention rates, partner upgrades, and other measurable efforts to deepen engagement with partners
Ability to develop and implement engagement strategies, incorporating Forum-specific know-how and account management best practices across the team
Feedback from partners on the fit of engagement plans to their specific needs as well as ability to advise and adjust as needed
Successfully managing and developing team members, supporting their career development and overseeing on-boarding and off-boarding
Preferred Requirements and Experience:
Broad intellectual background with a Master’s degree or equivalent from a globally-renowned institution, in a relevant subject (Business Administration, Economics, etc.)
10-15 years of relevant professional experience in business in Europe and/or North America, in Agriculture, Food & Beverage, Retail, Consumer & Lifestyle, and Healthcare Industries
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; other languages a plus (French, German, Spanish, Italian)
Outstanding track record in account management and business relationship development
Demonstrated ability to work with executives at the C-suite level as well as with experts in academia and other non-governmental organizations
High-level analytical and organizational skills
Clear track record of success in leading teams as well as strong management skills
Ability to connect the dots in a complex environment, strong service and entrepreneurial attitude
Energetic, self-directed, customer-oriented and collaborative/positive team player who is comfortable in a fast paced and international environment.
Ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time
