CyrusOne Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting in Dallas, Texas

The Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting will be a key member of the corporate accounting team and will report directly to the Vice President, Corporate Controller. The Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting will be responsible for the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to senior management. The Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting will also work closely with the Corporate Controller to improve systems and processes to support the Company’s strategy and growth.

  • Ensures that accounting functions are executed properly, accurately and efficiently in accordance with applicable financial accounting standards and regulations;

  • Oversight of the Joint Venture, General Ledger, Cost Accounting and the Accounts Payable departments;

  • Prepares the periodic consolidated financial statements which are provided to the SEC function for external filings;

  • Prepares monthly and periodic reporting to management, including FFO and EBITDA presentations;

  • Support the Company’s external auditors in their review of quarterly and annual financial statements;

  • Lead process improvement activities to shorten the close cycle, increase automation and ensure a high degree of accuracy and quality;

  • Remain current with accounting pronouncements as it relates to our business;

  • Develops and implements best accounting practice processes and systems across the Company, providing leadership and oversight for process improvements;

  • Develop and maintain intercompany processing and periodic account reconciliations;

  • Identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the close and consolidation process, including preparation of guarantor and individual entity financial statements;

  • Maintain thorough and current understanding of US GAAP, reporting and disclosure standards, including implementing new accounting pronouncements as necessary;

  • Account for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures;

  • Coordinate post-acquisition integration and financial systems implementations and upgrades;

  • Prepares special financial reports as necessary;

  • Coordinate and oversee corporate statutory audits; and

  • Other duties as required.

  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines;

  • Extensive real estate accounting experience in a leadership role, including experience in property, acquisition, joint venture and financing transactions;

  • High level of interpersonal and customer service skill and ability to maintain confidentiality;

  • Leadership ability to select, lead, evaluate, and develop employees;

  • Adaptable to changing work environment and shifting priorities;

  • Ability to effectively engage employees and build relationships across the organization with all levels of employees;

  • Ability to work on both strategic and tactical responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

  • Extensive experience working in Yardi, implementing new modules (Investment Manager, PayScan and Intercompany), making recommendations for process improvement and managing large implementation projects

  • Requires strong understanding of US GAAP and Non- GAAP accounting
