As a Product Designer for our Pivotal Transformation Team, you will travel to Dell’s global sites as part of a team and operate in a full stack designer way, meaning you will apply your mastery over multiple skills and use them to independently complete a design or product development while pairing with others so they learn - this is the enablement process. When not enabling new team members, this role could call for you to deliver learning workshops and bootcamps about Pivotal Methodologies, and deliver other stakeholder meetings to drive this knowledge across our organization.

In the Digital Transformation Program you’ll work closely with other designers, developers, product managers, researchers, architects, and business stakeholders to achieve the design objectives for each concept. This transformation program has three primary goals:

  • Establish a modern, global, cloud-based, software development company -- You are a key player in creating a new culture that changes people, technologies and processes aligned with Pivotal practices

  • Enable new capabilities and experiences that include, but are not limited to, personalized mobile & web purchasing, AR driven sales and support, voice-enabled purchase assistance, and support for Internet of Things (IoT)

  • Empower and enable new team members to use the Pivotal Methodologies to develop these new capabilities

You will be applying your proven track record of helping conceive, define and execute user experiences across web and mobile products, and working successfully in a highly collaborative team environment.

You will draw upon your deep understanding of User (Human) Centered Design, Business Driven Design, your understanding of the concepts of test driven development, pair programming and agile, and how to deliver solutions to bring measurable results. You'll build upon your portfolio that shows you've worked on a range of challenging projects across all steps of the design process: research, prototyping and aesthetics - including a strong background in Enterprise level development and proven abilities to innovate, be creative and collaborate with others.


Perform these responsibilities at Dell sites globally while you pair with another team member so they learn:

  • Conceptualize and execute global creative solutions for a variety of digital experiences

  • Interactive design projects that meet both user and business objectives, while maintaining and supporting brand standards

  • Evolve and evangelize our Design Language and System

  • Practice and facilitate Human-Centered Design (Design Thinking) methodologies

  • Guide and mentor more junior designers


8 years of related professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 6 years with a Master’s, or 3 years with a PhD, OR may consider equivalent additional relevant experience).

Experience to include:

  • Full understanding and hands-on experience with the entire User (Human) Centered Design process including research

  • Experience working in Agile and Lean UX

  • Delivering all standard UX Design artifacts (including Site maps, Process flows, Personas, Use Cases, Concept models, Wireframes, Design comps, Interactive prototypes, MS Visio, Adobe Creative Suite and/or other wireframe and prototyping tools); good understanding of typography, grids, visual layout, and design systems - An eye for design in general, and understanding and implementing key principles of UX design

  • Comfort working with complexity and ambiguity, with a passion for the challenges around organizing it

  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to work within pre-defined processes

  • Resourcefulness, dependability, pro-activeness

  • Understanding of HTML/CSS code, methodologies, and the technology and platforms that support UX design

  • An online portfolio demonstrating a strong design foundation with relevant examples of design concepts, deliverables, and process

  • Approximately 50% travel is anticipated, as part of a subject matter expert team enabling Dell’s digital transformation, including some international travel


  • User research experience in technical domains

  • Experience creating Design Systems, frameworks, or other Design-at-scale initiatives

  • Experience designing for eCommerce platforms and applications

  • Experience designing AR-driven, voice-enabled, or IoT experiences

  • Experience with Pivotal Methodology
