The successful Release manager candidate will work in a fast paced environment to manage, plan, schedule, control deployments and maintain software releases through different stages and environments of the Apple Online Store
Strong program management abilities
Ability to own the release management lifecycle
Strong and experienced Release Manager with record of leading multiple end to end projects and releases
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
Manage releases and special events for the Apple Online Store
Knowledge and experience planning out release and deployment timelines.
Deployment management experience for managing non-production and production releases.
Interface across multiple disciplines with Apple Online Store Engineering, QA, Support, Release engineering, Project managers and Site Operations and other IS&T partners as well as business
Knowledge of software development life cycle.
Participate in integration testing/UAT triages and bubble up high priority issues or risk to the release management team.
Participate in release status meetings and provide updates on the plans
Strong program management abilities to coordinate release activities and lead meetings across disciplines
Ability to quickly get up to speed on multiple environment landscapes
Track risks and work across teams on mitigation plans
Track Change requests as part of the release scope
Update Production Deployment plans
Prepare detailed release cutover plans, deployment plans, status reports
Ensure environment readiness
Ability to plan and track activity progress and release timelines
Track environment needs and deliver environment utilization reports
Ensure Release details including milestones, timelines, deployments, cutover plans are kept up to date in wiki
Work across teams to develop the Release Post Mortem and track open activities
Ability to drive process change to contribute towards improving quality of releases
BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 5+ years or MS degree with 3+ years experience, or equivalent
