Summary

The Speech Therapist III evaluates plans, directs and administers therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities. Organizes the daily scheduling of patients and staffing of personnel in a cost-effective manner.

Location

This position is based at Kearny Mesa, San Diego County

Will be part of an intra-departmental float pool encompassing five geographic clinical team locations across San Diego County

Hours

8-hour shifts; per diem position to work 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, weekends as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Communicative Disorders

  • CA license in Speech Pathology and certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Valid BLS certification for Healthcare Providers

  • Five or more years of experience in adult neuropathology’s with dysphagia management

  • Experience in daily scheduling and department operations

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • One year of recent home care experience

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
