Rugby Hub is looking for a new Senior Operations Manager to join the team managing the Hermes Rugby Hub. Rugby is moving towards an exciting future as we open in 2017 having installed a new automated sorting system. We are looking for a focused individual with excellent team management skills with the ability to adapt and promote change.

The purpose of this role is to be directly responsible for the Rugby Hub sort. You will be responsible for the control of staff and freight movement into, through and out of the hub. Managing & controlling performance in accordance with operational KPI’s and targets with a clear understanding of their impact on the wider business. The role reports to the General Manager of the Hub.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manages Hub operational activities to ensure the safe, timely and cost effective processing of shipments.

  • Clearly communicate operational, procedural and policy updates to all staff in an accurate manner

  • Manage and develop a motivated workforce through regular feedback.

  • Plan resource requirements in accordance with nightly volume changes, seasonal and business growth.

  • Correct use and management of sort equipment.

  • Demonstrate all Hermes behaviours.

  • Understanding the Hermes business strategy.

  • Control performance to KPI’s

    The ideal candidate will have sort operations experience with proven team management skills. They will be a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills. Health and Safety will be high on their agenda as will staff engagement.

You'll also have:

  • Full Driving Licence.
