About the Agency
The selectee for this position serves as the Supervisory Information Technology Specialist in the Management Information Department of the Naval Health Clinic NAVAL HOSPITAL Patuxent River, MD
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and department head as well as technical expert in all matters to the Local Area Network (LAN) and extending the Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity with other geographical areas and commands.
Develops Information Management Plans, annual submission of systems decision papers, and infrastructure plan and presents information to the Board of Directors when requested.
Oversees implementation of system hardware and software and develop operating procedure.
Serves as technical expert performing feasibility studies which involve application of emerging computer technology to resolve unique network and/or telecommunication requirements.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. IT related specialized experience must demonstrate attention to detail, customer service, oral communication and problem solving. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience managing high visibility projects, ensuring technical standards, timeliness, proper completion, and testing requirements are met with minimal impact to patient care.
- Experience managing and directing consumable product services including Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) support, pc (personal computer) helpdesk support, desktop moves, license management, IT test and evaluation, and asset management.
- Experience analyzing and monitoring utilization, reliability, and performance levels of current resources.
- Experience benchmarking, performing measurements, and evaluating network data, in conjunction with planning for changes in capacity due to workload technology

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Positions that are supervisory/managerial require that first time supervisors/managers complete a one-year trial/probationary period if not previously completed in a competitive or other excepted service position.
