BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Senior Strategic Advisor in Durham, North Carolina
As a senior member of the strategic Sales and Marketing function, contributes to the achievement of corporate goals through product, program, market engagement and/or marketing communications strategies. Initiatives may include new products or business partnerships to grow revenue beyond traditional sources as well as identification of market engagement, marketing communications and/or other programs to address market needs in the most cost effective manner. Leverages industry experience and expertise to promote enterprise understanding of the key areas in which the company is seeking to create competitive differentiation and establish sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace.
This position will address a need with Product Management & Experience for an individual dedicated to evolving our current network products to next generation, value-based products. The individual hired for this position will focus on the strategic product design, participate in BCBSA strategy work groups, and act as a liaison with Network to ensure our products are meeting company objectives.
Function as liaison between Product and Network Management
Coordinate implementation of product strategy with Network, Product Managers, Product Developers
Maintain awareness of Value-based contracts
Manage annual calendar, associated product deliverables (required reporting, updates, etc.)
Coordinate responses for Product portion of new business RFPs and Association RFIs
Collaborate on development of Local, National and BCBSA Product Offerings
Maintain understanding of products and future product roadmap
Apply criteria for BCBSA strategic programs to North Carolina market; ensure program launch strategies meet strategic needs (e.g. determine MSAs for 2019 Flexible Network launch)
Collaborate with Product Developers to ensure market offers and conceptual design for BCBSA strategic programs meet Association criteria
Function as liaison to other Blue Plans Product/Network resources
Participate in BCBSA Product/Strategy workgroups; communicate workgroup updates with internal key stakeholders
Read and understand Association marketing materials
Lead cross-functional work group meetings (Local and National Value-Based Programs)
Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years experience in strategic/business development, strategic planning, marketing strategy or product development.
OR Master’s degree with at least 4 years experience as stated above.
Candidate must have significant background and experience in marketing, product development, market engagement plan development and /or marketing communications strategy/planning, as determined by the specific business area’s needs.
Direct experience serving as a liaison to business executives, internal and external, and other outside advisors
Negotiation and/or consultative experience required.
Experience managing and delivering programs, projects and work efforts in a portfolio-based environment
