As a Human Resources Specialist, you will provide professional human resources management expertise and consulting services in organizational analysis, job analysis, classification studies, recruitment and staffing, assessment development and administration, compensation and pay administration, workforce planning and layoff/at risk activities.
This position is part of our central office recruitment and staffing team. This team is responsible for providing technical assistance to employees, management and applicants on the recruitment and staffing for all agency vacancies. We seek to continuously improve our recruitment strategies and work to develop creative techniques to ensure we are able to attract and retain the most qualified applicants. Come join our team!
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed:
Basic knowledge of recruitment and selection methods
Ability to read, interpret and apply technical information
Ability to prioritize and organize work activities
Ability to build and maintain cooperative and effective professional relationships
Effective communication skills including written, oral and listening
Ability to use web-based HR software and systems
Basic knowledge of classification and compensation principles

Minimally qualified applicants will have coursework/training in human resources topics and experience performing human resource related activities through work experience in an HR role, an internship performing HR tasks, or HR related school projects.

Type of Employment: Full Time (40 hrs/week)
Salary: Starting pay is between $49,920 and $56,160, depending on qualifications plus excellent benefits. Current state employees will be compensated based on the Compensation Plan rules. This position is in pay schedule and range, 81-04. A 12 month probationary period is required.
