This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Company Job ID-2017-2294Position Highlights:The Primary Care Clerkship has a single Clerkship Coordinator who is the front-line administrator for ambulatory student educational programs in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine. This position supports the two Primary Care Clerkship course directors in course development, design and evaluation. The Clerkship Coordinator will interact with all levels of training including students, residents, and faculty. This person should also be able to work independently but know when to seek direction from supervisors. Computer skills are essential to the function of this position.Position Responsibilities Include:Coordinate the Primary Care Clerkship activities based on an understanding of LCME requirements.Educational program planning and schedulingCoordinate medical student activities for approximately 120-140 third year medical students.Assist the Clerkship Directors in their position responsibilities including, but not limited to, the coordination and completion of all preceptor contracting and agreement obligations, Student orientation programs, Student evaluations and course evaluations.Coordinate schedules of all medical student rotations at affiliated clinical sites.Update and produce student orientation materials.Coordinate all medical student orientation sessions.Ensure faculty, residents, and medical students have the appropriate materials, resources and information to efficiently and effectively participate in the medical student program.Coordinate all medical student education sessions.Coordinate and supervise shelf examination sessions.Compile data from all faculty and resident evaluation forms; calculate final grades.Collect, organize and disseminate student evaluations.Collect, organize and disseminate course evaluations.Participate in educational research projects as needed.Routinely communicates with affiliated sites, problem solving so as to minimize or prevent problems. Anticipate program or operational problems.Initiate solutions independently or seek appropriate direction from the clerkship directors.Serve as a program leader and a student advocate. Position Qualifications Include:B.A. or B.S, Masters preferredFamiliarity with medical terminology helpful.Successful completion of a Clerkship Coordinator Certificate Program is highly desirable and may be required within 18 months of hire if not already certified. .Computer skills (MS Office-Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access; e-mail; desk-top publishing; web based evaluation and survey tools such as Oasis, Blackboard, etc.)Professionalism as representative of the Departments of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine in dealing with confidential and/or sensitive information.Ability to set goals and manage multiple complicated tasks.Ability to work independently.Ability to work with faculty, residents and students in a collegial and collaborative manner.
