Responsibilities: This position is responsible for assisting planners in locating and maintaining material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties. Performs inquiries and data transactions within the Movex MRP system in an efficient, timely manner. Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority. Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status. Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas. Compiles and maintains own records. Industrial Truck Operator or Material Handler to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas. Examines material received, verifies part numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts. Compares work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment

Qualifications: Must have manufacturing/warehouse background. Intermediate to advance computer skills, especially Excel, (must be able to accurately enter both alpha and numerical data), ability to communicate in English, and occasionally lift 25 pounds. Familiar with Bills of Materials. Blue print reading preferred. Must be friendly and helpful. The employee will work in a shop environment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
